I was drawn to the tension between the solid, ancient rocks and the constant motion of the water. The way the ocean slowly reshapes what seems immovable. This painting was featured in a solo show at the Pence Gallery in Davis, CA.

Painted in oil on lead-primed panel, an Old Masters technique that increases luminosity. Paint sits on top of the surface rather than sinking in, giving the colors a richness and vibrancy that holds up over time.
